Perfect Fit inner sleeves

Perfect Fit is the range that made inner sleeving mainstream. These are snug sleeves sized close to the card itself rather than to a standard outer sleeve, intended to go under a second sleeve.

The published specification is worth quoting because most sleeve listings do not give thickness at all: Perfect Fit Thick inner sleeves are listed at 63 × 88 mm, polypropylene, 100 microns. That is roughly twice the thickness of the regular Perfect Fit sleeve.

Polypropylene matters beyond durability. Conservation guidance lists it among the plastics stable for long-term contact with printed material, unlike PVC. For a sleeve that sits directly against a card for years, that is the relevant property.

Card Codex binders, and the double-sleeving figure

Dragon Shield publishes binder capacity for both single and double-sleeved cards, which almost no manufacturer does, and the gap is the useful part.

The Card Codex Zipster binder is stated to hold 360 cards single-sleeved or 324 double-sleeved. Same binder, roughly a 10% capacity loss from the second layer of plastic.

That figure is the best available answer to a question collectors ask constantly — what does double-sleeving actually cost in a binder — and it comes from the manufacturer rather than from estimation. Treat stated capacities from any brand as upper bounds: an overfilled binder bows its pages, and bowed pages curve the cards inside them.

Reading Dragon Shield specifications

The brand publishes millimetre dimensions and micron thicknesses on product pages, which makes its listings checkable in a way much of the category is not. Where a figure appears on this site attributed to Dragon Shield, it came from those listings.

Where the company does not publish a figure, this site does not supply one. Deck box capacities quoted in secondary sources, for instance, could not be confirmed on a Dragon Shield page and are therefore not stated here.
